While cannabis sales are fully legal in 11 states, and medical
marijuana in 33 - banking remains out of reach for every last
business in the American industry. Idaho's Senator Mike Crapo
happens to sit at the head of the Banking Committee, and has now
become an unlikely figure in the fight. Allowing businesses to
operate safely is important for many reasons, including reducing
money laundering and organized crime (see: Prohibition). Is it a
states rights issue?
